got stuck here taking out the rocker cover bolts when one was stuck and it started to round out. dropped some wd40 on it and moved onto the others, came back and belted it with a hammer a few times. victory is mine :D out she came straight into the bin so i dont try putting it back in

wow almost a year..

since i couldnt make the cruise this weekend i spent some quality time with the boy.
seats are in, front bar is mounted, all lights and indicators wired up. have lost my doorhandles though
just need to finish trimming the rear bar and mount it. then off to get an exhaust and engineering.
have decided paint and interior can wait.

That's an interesting approach to modifying the rear bar. I did mine by chopping off the excess, before heating and bending a new lip to match the wheel arch. I'll be interested to see how yours ends up, because I'm not 100% happy with how mine turned out.

Not sure that I took any pics. Basically where you have left the old lip on the end and cut a section out of the middle, I just hacked off everything I didn't need, then heated the plastic to bend a new lip that wraps around into the wheel arch.

surprise surprise old one is rusted into its socket :x any ideas on getting it out? or do i just rip the lot out and slap in some led's..

I replaced mine with a set from a Rodeo. Looks much better than the Alto ones. You could also use the standard MB housings.

i could use the mb ones, you are correct sir. if i knew where the hell they were  i may have managed to misplace (as well as my doorhandles) an entire front bumper.

i thought id steal the ones from the swift, but theyre busted to hell and fell apart as i removed them. ill try the ones out of the carry tomorow.

Ahah!
a set from a Rodeo
Spotted those on the cruise - thought they looked rather sharp - meant to ask you about them.
Got busy with other stuff and never quite got back to it...

problem solvered. had some headlights with parkers in them from another car, so no longer have to worry about parkers in the bar. so will see if i can find some rodeo housings cheap or just smash out the busted globe and put some led's in place
