Similar red light camera and photo radar technology has generated billions of dollars worldwide. In Washington, DC alone, cameras billed drivers more than $171 million since 1999.
Well, it's nice to know the conservatives are focussing on our safety and wellbeing in purchasing such devices.

i personally dont think its a very good technology.

I say bring it on. Hell they can put one out the front of my house, along with a speed camera.

I get sick of dickheads screaming past my place in the middle of the night in their bogan-spec Falcodore or doofed-up rice rockets doing 100kph in a 60 zone with either half an exhaust or 12 subwoofers cranking. There are limits to what is acceptable.

I have a fundamental problem with the fact the move is only really being made to generate money, masquerading as a service to the public - like every other camera.

It's question of what exact noise threshold they're going to pick that has me worried the most... :?

I think its all a big pile of wank!

I dont see how they can distinguish a big Mack truck driving down Northbourne to the friday night fucktards driving down the same road into Braddon. (sorry for the A.C.T. only refs)

I cant see how a project like this can get up and running, even under the guise of "public safety".

I understand a noise limit around places like hospitals or retirement homes... or after midnight, like you have in your average residential suburbs, but really.... the highways and freeways... yeah good luck to that!

If more people had commonsense and courtesy for others, we wouldnt need stupid ideas like this to keep your local dickhead in check, but instead local dick is too busy fitting his car with whistles and turning the base up to max to get his woman off on his "fully sik" skitz mix"doof" high octane style.
