Hi Members. We have come across a slight problem with big end bearings. Did the Mighty Boy come out with 2 different sizes?
Suzuki have sent some that are too big, but they say that they are correct.
These are to fit a standard F5A motor. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Lyn.

What do you mean too big? Too long, or journal hole too big, too wide or what? There were 3 standard sizes, standard, 1st over size (.25mm) and 2nd oversize (.50mm).
The F5 and F8 are the same. The mains are not.
If your crank has been reground standard will be too large in clearance.

Hi, I've been & checked with the guys, the bearings supplied are too long & also too wide. Stocks were supplied by suzuki in Melbourne & they tell them thats all they got.
I got them to check the ones from the motor & here's the info...

Wide 15.90mm
diameter 35.54mm
thick 1.51mm

Stamped inside bearing is code number 7F4D

If you know of anyone with matching codes, we are interested in purchasing.
Please let me know.

I checked my manuals they don't help with the measurements or numbers.
Try Repco in your local area I got my last set from Repco, no problems.
Or try some of the independent car parts places.
What is the number on the back of the original shells off your engine?

Thankyou! Those standard size bearings with the product id fit. You have just saved 3 mechanics from going bald with frustration. Suzuki had them running around in circles & even repco said they couldn't help until you supplied that code.
We bow down to you! :)

No worries but if Repco or Suzuki got off their arses and read the parts manual they would have found the big ends for the LJ80 (4 cylinder) the F8 and the F5 all share the same big end size. The F8 and LJ80 share the same main bearing and the F5 and LJ80 share the same rings not sure about the pistons they could have different pin locations. also I have not checked the thickness of the rings.
