As you may or may not know, i am fitting the F8C into the mighty boy, now we had the initial measure up tonight, and it seems the plastic intake runners for the F8c manifold arent going to clear under the bonnet. As the throttle body sits right ontop of the motor. So, what EFI manifolds are you guys using ? is it possible to get an alloy one that can be modified ? if we get an alloy one it wont be a problem as we can cut it etc etc however this plastic one isnt going to be able to be cut and modified as easily.

Also any pics you guys have of your EFi manifolds would be tops.... this is going to be a thinker... we are going to fit the motor up anyway, and see just hwo much clearance were going to need, but from a rough guess its going to sit approx 50mm above where the bonnet would be...

anyway, any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated!

I believe that most people are using F6A manifolds. Have a look in the technical FAQ under MightyBoy Technical. There is the link to Brayden's EFI F8B project.

F6A or F5A EFI manifolds are the go, or given that the intake manifold on an F8C is plastic you could easily cut it and have it plastic welded with shorter runners.

A mate suggested to me the other day that my Swift would look good with a mini BA Falcon bonnet bulge, but I reckon that idea would look much better on an MB!

ill get it all fitted up, and see how big it is sitting out of the bonnet...

anyoen knwo if those manifolds will bolt up to the F8C ? anythign different between teh F8C and F8B ?

we might have a go at dummy fitting it this weekend if were lucky, so hopefully i can see how much room were going to have to make

also, i know its a long long way away... but i take it plastic instake runners wouldnt take too kindly to 6-7 psi of boost ?... exploding plastic imminent ?

Guys are boosting new Swifts with plastic manifolds - they're holding up okay on that sort of boost.

If you want to verify the manifold bolting patterns just remove the manifold and take a photo with a ruler or tape measure running along the bottom. Send me/post up the pic and I'll match it against my F8B/F6A manifolds for you.
