Just a query on weather anyone out there has found a replacement front shock for a MB yet. Ive read about the rebuilding, Koni inserts and the SA Swift shock assy just wondering if there is any other options also those that have upgraded to the swift shock assy what sort of $$$ did they cost I'm abit of an untrusting tight prick and prefer to do as much work myself as I can, have'nt yet found a mechanic that I trust, plus I enjoy getting frustrated working on cars. :)

Cheers Shaun

SA Swift struts are about $150-$175 a side for KYB and need to be modified to fit. They also lower the front end by about 1".

cool, thanks Brayden, so the mod to fit is just the elongated hole and brake line bracket yeah, would the front end then look out of place, ie. should I then lower the back end aswell, whats your thoughts.

Also is there any disadvantages of using the swift struts, ie castor camber and so on

So long as you can accurately elongate the holes you shouldn't have any issues with camber, however if you mill the holes in a certain direction you can add camber adjustment if thats something you'd need.

Having the front 1" lower will add a slight rake to the profile, but you could get 25mm lowering blocks if you'd rather keep it even front and rear.
