Hey guys,

A couple of months ago, i bought a alto works from off this forum from steve in adelaide. Got it ship down to melbourne with TNT for $180 depot to depot.
There were a few problems with the car. They were a front hit, extremely bad transmission leak and it needed a really good clean overall.
Here are some pics of it when i took the engine out and strip the front:

The problem with the transmission was the torque converter seal was the wrong one. The next problem was trying to find the right seal for it. Unfortunatly couldn't find the right seal anywhere for it. We ended up getting a seal which was one size smaller and had to send the torque converter to the engineer to machine it down to fit the seal. Having done that a the gearbox was mated back to the engine. While the engine was out it also received a new timing belt.

The engine and box were then fitted back into the car

The car has now been all put back together. Took it for a drive and it went brilliant. The car is going to the panel shop today to have the front repaired and resprayed. Also the rest of the car will be cut and polished.

Will keep you guys updated on the progress. Hopefully this thing should be on the road in 2 weeks. :D :D

Awesome, haven't seen that car in ages.

Does it have intrusion bars? If so can you take a pic for me
FYI the centre console box / tape storage is pretty much double DIN

Is that clock in the dash after market?
Whats the specs on those wheels?
Those seat belt inner buckles got a part number on them?

So many questions.... The car is already at the panel beater, as soon as it finishes there i'll be able to answer your questions Goofy. As for the timing belt, that was a bit of playing around trying to find the right one... I'll have to look at the box tomorrow to see what the part number is and ill let you know stevan. As for the rims i know that they are 13", i will be selling these as i have ordered a brand new set of rims from the tyre shop. So keep an eye out.

The timing belt should be the same as cappa f6a iirc

You can get the timing belts from Gates but they are pretty expensive. I just bought one for my cappo about $ 200.00
What motor is in the Alto it looks very much like an F6AT?

You can get haps of hot up bits for them then, just depends how far you want to go and how good your bank balance is. One cappo owner in Sydney has 125KW at the rear wheels now.

Goofy is Right. It is actually an F5B engine. If I'm not mistaken the timing belt is the same as the cuppo. I wont be going to crazy with mods on this one, just mainly going to be my daily. The only mods to the engine will be exhaust and pod filter. I do have a spare F5B twincam engine which im currently rebuilding which will be going into my mightyboy. This will be the one with all the goodies. I'd be over the moon if i even get close to 100kw, but only time will tell.

Ive just started stripping it down. Haven't even looked into the parts as yet. Was hoping that it would be easy to track down. If not, i guess i could always bore it out a bit and fit the F6A pistons and rings. But i'll soon find out when i get to that point. Maybe order some parts from Japan. I know a guy who can get most suzuki parts brand new from japan.
