Yep, LS1 V8. I've got pics of the 4 MB's that were at Summernats this year. Will put them up in the next 24 hours.

Would someone really want a car that would be as agro as that to daily drive, not to mention so crampt in the interia due to the engine sitting way past the firewall? Sure the fun police do stop some fun, but in this case, i think it's not such a bad thing they stop it from road use. BUT, you shouldn't cut up a good mighty boy to make a burnout car, maybe a banged up one......
I'd be happy enough with a 1lt Turbo EFI 5spd setup, i'm sure you could get something like that to 100kw. 100Kw and around 650kg = FUN, and should be just legal as well.

You wouldnt even need a 1l the f6a (dohc turbo) is more then capable of hitting that 100kw mark.

Hell yeah! F6A power is the best.

But a 1lt might get another 30kw??? Even if it didn't it would be more torque.

although 100kw would be more then enough especially since with a mightboy there light and with all that power going through the front wheels it will torque steer.
I know of a Cappuccino with a F6A with 131rwkw (same motor in a mb would probably produce slight more power as there is less powerless through the drivetrain compared to rwd, but then again would torque steer like a mofo)...actually got to ask him how much torque he is producing as well!

My ultimate aim is to crack 100kw ATW from an F8B, I don't think that has been done yet.

Sounds like great fun, what you talkin about danger?
As for 100Kw ATW in a F8b, let's do a little math with help from Ray Hall Turbo's, just for an example.
F8b of 796cc engine, say 20lb boost, 70% comp eff, 75% VE, ambient air is 20Deg C, 5500RPM max, and IC eff of 75%, you would be looking at 93 BHP & 89 (ft/lb i think ) torque. Flywheel figures. Taken from the below linked page. I think 93BHP is about 68Kw, acc to some online calc's. So probably a bit over 55KW ATW. Doesn't sound like much, but considering a stock boy probably had about 10-14KW ATW, that's what, almost 5 times the original power. Now that's cool
http://www.turbofast.com.au/tfcalc.html
To help on the way to 100KW ATW you would need to overbore the engine to get some more CC to help produce power, not to mention as much headwork as possible, and lots of boost. Would be fun to drive, but a pig also.
I'm baring up at the thought of a mighty boy or any kei car with > 50KW ATW.

My 1500ish kg eb had 80 KW ATW from the factory, i've got roughly 130KW ATW since mods.

I think your figures might be a bit off. 93hp at the fly from 20PSI is pretty low!
Colin made about 70hp ATW with his F8B carby turbo @ 16PSI, no intercooler. eDave pulled the same-ish figure out of a SOHC F6A @ 14PSI running a Haltec.
Anyway, I'll have a benchmark when I dyno the ute soon.
