I thought it was time to show off my $250 Carry fully rebuilt 8000 kilometres ago 7 years ago. It passed a roadworthy with nothing needed. My original Carry behind to the left and my Nissan Terrano behind. My original Carry was given to me by my dad and my luxury 4WD turbo diesel Terrano cost me $460 and passed roadworthy with nothing needed. All three cars cost me $760

With the workshop manual it came with. It also came with the original owners manual

The rear seats fold up to protect the occupants from flying objects. The 2 cuts in the carpet are tool boxes, because of the double floor in this model the low roof model doesn't have them. This model also has the floor covering the rear wheel arches and although it weighs 40 kg more than the low roof model. Because of the shorter rear bumper bar this model is 60mm shorter than the low roof.

The body has traveled 140,000 kilometres. Basically all associated running gear has been rebuilt or replaced

One thing though, you've got the rear seats wrong - they actually tumble. Lift the recliner mechanism and tilt the seat backs forward. Then push the recliner handle down and the seat backs will fold flat against the base. You can then fold the base forward and use the straps beside the front seats to secure them in place.

Braydon, the way you desribe the seats are the same as my seat in my low roof model. The way you see them in the photo is the way they are designed.

So what retains the seats in that upright position? The straps are only designed to hold them in the tumble position.

Yeah, the seats don't tumble, they will only go to a 90 deg angle. Not a good position for rear space in that formation.

Looking at the photos it looks like the centre springs have come off the latch mechanism. They should definately be able to tumble.

I will have a closer look in the morning, but if they take up any more space than the way they are now I will be doing nothing about it. I know that when the seat in my other Carry folds it definitely takes up more room. I can lay down comfortably with the seat out and have to curl my legs up in that one. I will test the same thing in the morning. But then again, it comes complete with a bed. With the seats folded down it might not be truly comfortable, I do not know, but when driving for many hours and tired it doesn't matter.

If I did not have other plans I would drive to Canberra for the mini van day. I haven't been there since I lived there in 2003. And I want to see my relative's WWII Kitty Hawk fighter plane that now resides in the War memorial, and has done so since the Keating government basically stole it from him.
