Just wondering how easy or hard it is to fit an oil pressure guage to a F8B? Havent had a look myself yet as I havent been home long enough to check everything out, but Ive noticed Speco have both electric and mechanical oil pressure guages (and temp guages) available so im wondering which one I would need? Also I believe a T piece is needed for the oil pressure guage install?

Looking at maybe one of the "3 guage kits" (Speco) which include 2" guages for - battery amps and either mech oil pressure and mech temp, or elec oil pressure and elec temp so Im unsure of which one to get..

Any help and info appreciated.
Cheers.

Mechanic would be fairly easy to set up. You could use a oil filter relocation kit, they usually have an outlet for a pressure gauge.

I'm using VDO electric and they have a sensor that combines the gauge sensor with a 7SPI warning light switch, so you can just remove the stock switch and install the sensor there.

I recommend electrical gauges because it means you don't have fluid lines running into the cabin.

Thanks for the replys guys. I'll look into getting the electric guages. Sounds like the best way to go.

Cheers.

I can say from experience that it isn't nice having hot oil running down your leg when the capilliary to a mechanical guage lets go  . My LJ50 has done that, thankfully I did not get the oil directly off the guage - it sprayed up under the dash & had time to cool.
I had it fixed in 10 minutes & subsequently moved the guage (budgetary constraints :x )

I've just ordered a set of Speco 2" plasma guages, and their 2 5/8" 3 cyl tacho so will be tinkering over xmas and new Years. Hopefully get me217's green beast registered and on the road early in the new year. :)
