Hey there.
I am in need of a good mechanic to fix my little blue car.
Does any one know of any one that in Tassie, mainly in Launceston that is knowledgeable about these cars. I have been going to my normal mechanic but they have lost the one that normally did my car and are pretty crap at fixing her up. I would rather pay $$$ that is getting her fixed properly.

Looking for some help in Tassie

Nobody as yet is working on my little Suzuki 800 hatch. There was a mechanic that did a good job at Carline mufflers in Launceston and has since left and now works out Lillydale. I haven't asked him yet but thought i would just ask around of any body that might know someone closer to Launceston.
My little car is not idling properly when she is in drive and seems to cut out when i either slow, stop or do not have my foot on the accelerator. She still goes but she needs the choke out to keep going which is not healthy. I was told it has to do with carburetor or some thing to do with the point (to check them) and some thing about a bush. Well that is a break down of what could be wrong and of any GOOD mechanics around that can help get her fixed without spending too much money on another part that is not the root of the problem. I JUST WANT HER PURRING until the next thing that needs fixing.
Legerwood seems a little far and if i was out that way i would you a try.

yea ldale isnt that far really, if he has worked on it before, and knows the car, id be giving him a ring,
sounds like it could be carby related tho,
has someone looked at it since its been playing up? if so what was done/replaced?

Thanks guys for the replies. You have really been very helpful.
Nothing really has been done about it yet. It has been waiting in the driveway patiently for some $$$. Before that I was told that the carby could be the problem and did nothing, they sprayed some stuff on it and welded a hole in my exhaust and that was it. I took it in this week to be booked and said there main mechanic went bye-bye. So i thought to myself why waste my time and money on mechanics that have no idea about my car.
So it looks like i will be calling up my mate in Lillydale.
Cheers guys. I'll let you know how she goes.

Just wondering... how much would you charge to play around with a carburetor, ball park figure?
To rebuild a carby a mechanic would charge around $300.

matty had his weber rebuilt by pro carb who i think are on holbrook st invermay, nd we have brought parts through them at work, im sure they could give u a good idea on what it would cost, im thinkin there would be 2 or 3 hours in it, give or take..

I have my little suzzy hatch with my friend in Lillydale. He's looked at the carburetor and has pulled it out and had a good clean out but has found that it is flooding and running a little rich. He's going to look at the float tomorow. Has any one got any suggestions as what could be the problem if its not the float.
Suzzy also got a new gasket kit put into her.

Flooding can also be caused by a worn needle and seat.
