Hey yo. Just wanted to see if someone could do a quick look for me as I am about 200km away from the ute and not gonna be looking at it for at least another week.
On the bottom of the strut body there is a step about 15mm from the bottom of the body to the bottom of the clevis where it mounts to the steering knuckle. Can anyone advise if this is required for driveshaft/CV clearance or is it just there because Suzuki came up with the idea one Friday night down the pub around a few beers?
Here is a picture to show where I am talking about, though I can't visualize it off the top of my head mounted to the knuckle.

Suspension height has nothing to do with the gap required for clearing the outer CV boot.Breyten wrote:Lowered suspension would decrease the need for that clearance, would it not?
When I ordered my ProSport coilover springs I asked King Springs about KSFL-12s and was told they are progressive rate 120-160lb.Husky wrote:I'm running lowered king springs KSFL-12 from memory 165lb/in

Standard height is 90-120lb in factory spec, HD is the same spec as lowered.

Thanks for that. Pretty much nailed my question in regards to having the area flat and still working fine. Cheers mate.Husky wrote:Gday ceej,
You are correct. It is there to clear the cv boot. In saying that im running sa swift struts and they are flat across there. I do have clerance however it is minimal( a few mm).
Garry. Nuff sed!
