Thats about the going rate I would expect. An absolute pristine MB could go as high as $3500 or more, but for an average one $2000-$2500 is not out of the question.

I'm spoiled though I guess - having owned a total of 5 MB's at a total cost of about $800. :P

Picked up my green MB in practically showroom condition for $500. (Long story)
Bought another for $250 that had sideswiped a sign.
Bought the next one for $50 with some front end damage.
Picked up one for free from a golf course because they didn't want it any more. Nothing wrong with it besides some dents.
Scored the final one for free after doing some favours for a bloke's son.

Not bad hey!

Oh yes, I failed to mention that on top of buying my MB for $500 it passed rego first time and went 12 months without having to spend a dollar other than servicing and fuel. :D

Its not gloating when you consider after that initial 12 months it has probably cost me about 30 times the original purchase price so far - and still going. :ugh:

True...

...I can think of many obsessions and habits in my own life that could easily go either way.
