Can someone tell me if the F8 distributor is the same as the F5?
I have a bunch of both but don't know which one is which.
thanks.

They are weighted (graphed) differently, although I don't know a way of telling them apart!

Thanks Brayden
if a few people with the f5 motors can check the numbers on their dissies and post them that would help.
I managed to find my manuals and note they are graphed different, would this have any real world effect?
btw don't you sleep?

The response curve on the F5a is a little more aggressive from memory, may cause engine pinging under load depending on temperature, fuel type etc.
F5a uses Denso 33100-78319 dizzy (or model 029100-6750).
F8b uses Denso 33100-78410 dizzy (or model 029100-7270).

Sorry for the late reply, don't get much PC time these days, busy building engines instead :D )
