Okie dokie. . .after pulling a couple of turbos apart. . . This is a VZ8 (from a DOHC F5A) exhaust housing: From the top: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/PetenSoaf/Alto/VZ8top.jpg And sitting flat on the dump pipe face: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/PetenSoaf/Alto/VZ8side.jpg And thi...

Just to add another variable, the F6A turbo is slightly larger than the F5A Physically larger, or larger in an airflow/boost potential way? I have both a VZ8 (DOHC F5A) and a couple of VZ21's (SOHC F6A(?)) and, apart from the exhaust housing mounting flange, they appear to be externally identical. ...

Excellent. . .great information. In that case, what does a DOHC F6A manifold look like, in terms of the orientation of the turbo-mounting bolts? The same as the DOHC F5A? And further to that, do you know if FWD and RWD versions of the DOHC F6A's used the same exhaust manifolds? A new F6A Cappuccino ...

F6A exhaust manifold. . .I think. . .
Probably a resonably long shot - but I'm looking for an exhaust manifold from a F6A turbo. This is so that I can mount a VZ21 turbo to my DOHC turbo F5A engine (which uses a slightly different manifold). This is the F5A manifold that I already have: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/PetenSoaf/A...

F5A rods/rod bolts
Hi all. . .long time no post. . . About a million years ago, I bought a CA72V Alto (DOHC turbo) with a view to building it up and doing a bit of club racing in it. Well, after a few years of being distracted by 205 GTi Peugeots and DS Citroens, I'm finally getting back to it. Anyhow, I'm planning on...

OK, I've been thinking about doing a supercharger install for a bit now. Perhaps Brayden can answer my questions... With the fuel system, I'm guessing I will need a FPR as well as a lift pump? I currently have my VL pump sucking fuel from the tank. Aslo, will a surge tank be a must? I saw one on eb...

I run a AMR300 on my 998cc Mini Moke. Driven at 1:1, it makes about 5psi. I have overdriven it in the past to produce around 10psi, and there were no problems with the rotors melting. You are right about the AMR superchargers running 'plastic' internals - the rotors are fluorine (basically teflon) c...

My old MB had 115,000 on it when we bought it (on original motor, verified from service history). We ran it up to about 140,000km. . .we then sold it to a friend and it's now done just under 190,000. . .on the original F5. What's even better (or at least, more amazing) is that it's last 50,000km hav...

Yeah, thinner oil will improve your throttle response a bit, and will lean things out slightly (piston can rise faster, so there is less accelerator pump effect). Does the filter your using leave the air passages for the low pressure side of the dashpot open? To the left hand side (fuel bowl side) o...

Inch and a quarter SU, GG needle with a blue spring, 25/50 oil in the bell. Used the original inlet manifold with a piece custom made to mount the SU - piccies will tell a thousand words. Its on an F5A - would be a lot easier to tune on a F8 due to capacity being roughly the same as half a mini mot...

Probably should wait until I see the pics but: What type of SU are you using? And what needle, spring and oil does it have in it? Aaaand, how did you deal with the coolant passage that normally runs through the inlet manifold? If you hadn't worked it out - I like SU's - I reckon they are THE most ve...
