Been cleaning up the edges (bloody glue keeps clogging my sandpaper) as a break from study. Here's a quick picture I took to show clearance between the kick and the pedal:

Any custom pedals I get/make in the future will need to be very slim and not stick out far on the right. It's close! You can also see the brand new tweeter baffle looking all purrdy.

So on Wednesday I'm going to have a listen to my pods. Not so much interested in tonality (if a cello sounds like a cello) or output (loudness) but definately interested in imaging (position of instruments across the stage) and stage width, height and depth.

Here's to hoping it all goes well!

Decided I had free time enough to have a listen today. Here is my ghetto rig:

And one for Goofy:

Clearance isn't actually too bad. The pod makes a nice foot rest :D

Onto the sound; I was quite happy with the tonality (which wasn't what I was supposed to concentrate on, go figure) but the stage is pretty poo. Hopefully that's a function of reflections from all the bare metal (crossing fingers). Voices were low especially on the sides, most instruments were not too bad though.

I'm once again amazed at the Supremos! I've been listening to my new IEMs lately (Etymotic ER-6i) which are supposed to be very clean and detail (and they are) but they get fatiguing after awhile. Listening to the 'premos today was pure bliss! All the detail and more of the ER-6i but soooo much more laid back and never a hint of harshness or fatigueing on my part.

In summary, the install will go on! I just want it finished so I can listen to music again. A 'balls to the wall' SQ install will wait for a larger, more suitable vehicle. Hopefully when all the carpet is in and I've had some time to tune, the car will be competitive in CAASQ as I had hoped it would be.

IEM's?? In Ear Monitors im guessing?

Etymotics ay? Havent had the chance to try them, but for the price tag lol im guessing they'd be good.

Im using the Shure earphones atm. Awesome I say... If you havent had a listen to them i highly reccomend it.

If only I could get my car with the same SQ at the Shures!

What's the new car Nathan? Is the 7 coming to QLD so you can take me for a spin?

I will definately require your services if you have a welder and I need some laser-cutting services too.

Picked up my last amp today, a Arc Audio 1500XXK for the sub. Decided to take a photo of the lot so far:

That's a lot of audio gear for such a small vehicle! Going to fit the amps under the seats? I was thinking about putting one under the drivers seat when i finish up my stereo install, but that has to wait a while now, engine is needing $$$$.

Cheers

Amps will be behind the seats in a yet-to-be-determined arrangement.
