 That's because you bought it from Tassie, didn't you? - most of the cars down here aren't roadworthy!

You can't speak, Mr. No Roof Lining!

I second what Brayden said, though you gotta use the right amount of adhesive, any over or under spray is a bitch to correct. The stuff is very sticky, but can also just come unstuck with ease. You just gotta do it, and do it right! Your arms will get very sore from holing the carpet up there to keep it in place whilst it tacks. Get some mates over, will make it easier!

The finished product will look ace though.

Yeah I removed my roof lining about 3 years ago when my ute was resprayed, and tried a few times to replace it with vinyl - no luck.

I have done other roofs with speaker carpet though, and it worked well. In fact I might go buy some and do the MB roof over the weekend. :D
(No real concern for me though as I plan on having the interior retrimmed soon anyway.)

Hi guys,
I had a similar problem with my hatch, when I got her she had the room lining hanging down and mis-aligned from when the previous owner fitted the sun roof.
Same suggestion as the other guys however, Spray adhesive a heat gun and some elbow grease, to make them fit properly.
Alternativly you can use as suggested speaker carpet or any other material that will do the job.
In my little beast I fitted swede like material which I bought by the meter at Spotlight to the kick panels etc as the old vinyl-plastic was ripped to shreds.

WARNING Check that your spray adhesive is suitable for headlinings /hot surfaces - failure may result in driver blindness due to headlining falling off
No, I wasn't caught out - I read the can, then used a different product.
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..
