The cup can be any brand as long as it fits the gauge. 2", 3" etc.

Hey guys,

I've been trying to get my speco installed over the weekend but hit a snag. The white wire (for the lighting) is confusing me. It's not actually attached to the tacho on either end of the wire so i'm a bit lost on how this gets integrated into the circuit. All the other wires i am fine with, just this one is confusing.

Any clues on how it connects??

Thanks,
Toby

the white wire attaches to the globe(black thick wire) then this allows it to be hooked up to turn on when the lighting for the car is turned on

Someone plz help me installing a speco tacho 520-03 for my red mb.
I have done everything as the instruction manual said, but i meet a dead
end where the tacho would not work.

Thought I'd share what I found in the weekend - I swear I'm never going to Repco or Supercheap again, went to a place called STA Parts, (here in Auckland) and as an example of their prices - picked up a timing belt for the F8B for $7.85 as opposed to $44 at Ripco. :P

but yeah asked about 3 cyl tachos, and they had this:

AUT2302SSC
GAUGE 3-3/4 INCH TACHO 0-8000RPM SILVER FACE WITH CHROME PLASTIC MOUNTING CUP 3/4/6 CYL - $59.85 NZD

Image

not too bad for $60 NZD, bit modern looking for my liking - I'm gonna try to make one myself from and old Subaru Rex cluster (might have been a justy or something). I want something that suits the rest of the early 80's instruments.

but yeah if anyone's keen I'd be happy to purchase on behalf and send over to aussie for yas?
