Hi all,

Have read and bunch of the info on MB upgrades/conversions, and pretty much know what i need to do to go from a 550 to 800, but have not read anywhere yet about any engineering costs, i'm not really sure about weather it needs an engineer cert or not, so if it does can someone tell me a rough figure on what it may cost

Cheers Shaun

In QLD you can probably get away without a mod plate, but if you wanted to get one it shouldn't be too expensive.

My NSW/ACT engineers cert cost me $280, but QLD should be cheaper than that.

A mod plate in Qld starts around $110.00 depending on the mod & who engineers it. e.g.your local mechanic operating as an 'approved person' is not as likely to cost as much as a transport modifications engineer would. I am not saying the transport engineer isn't the right person to see though.
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..

Fantastic I was a bit worried that it would be expensive, had a mate that said it cost him over a grand to get his car engineered, but i guess he put pretty much a whole different front end on
