Mighty Boys with Airbags
Anyone interested in Airbags in there mighty boy, anyone got any good prices for the setup equiptment (i plan on doing the conversion myself)
$2500 for all the equipment needed for the full 4 bag setup (switches, tank, lines, gauges, everything) Cheaper if there is a group buy (sydney)
you just need a good welder
$5000 installed
anyone know where you can get the Full setup from in Sydney-cheap, has anyone done it before and got pics of the process ive seen it done on other utes but not on a MB.....probags did a great job with their MB- frkn sweet as.

The two MB's that I have have seen fully airbagged were never able to be registered. Because the MB doesn't have a full frame chassis you can't get the modifications engineered.
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
you can bag a MB, with very little modification. you just wont be able to "rail" it or drop it onto it chassis.
If you want to go to the ground you wont be able to register it without $100,000's of $'s spent.

i wouldnt mind bagging my MB....its either that or get lowered spring n blocks, 2500 is quite alot .....but PROBAGS is probably one of the best in Aus....ive seen at Repco or Autobarn a kit including the 4 bags and sum other stuff...just not the tank gauges and switches for 600.
why can they get engineered/registered???? thats shit house

Not 100% sure the Merc is a full chassis but:

yer im getting mine done now the engineer had already gone over the design and he will engineer it all. you can get a kit from as cheap as 2000 from custom works(used to be called tuck shop) but dont go into it unless you have alot to spend mine is all getting done by the chop shop and they are extremly good with all there work you pretty much get what you pay for.. havnt even started the front yet. here are a couple of pics of how it sits.
and how it will tuck the 18s once it is finished.

Sweet as man......has that shop got a number???
how much for the engineering and for the installation???
What size rims for the front, im pretty sure the biggest you could go is 16's without getting in the way of the CV shaft???
Good luck with the project...keep the pics posted

How do you figure this? I seem to recall CVs constantly being in the center of the wheel? Well, you learn something new every day. Now I am off to the shed to modify my CV shafts so I can put 17's on it!motorheadmatt wrote: What size rims for the front, im pretty sure the biggest you could go is 16's without getting in the way of the CV shaft???

Garry. Nuff sed!
bahahahah
... thats pretty sweet.. nice work

lol. hey man, with a quick CV mod and cuttin the struts in half you could have 18' for the cost of an hours work
but im so jealous bout that boy sammy. that is what ive wanted from day one, but dont have the dosh. question! how are you goin to mount the fuel filler?

Fuel? Who needs fuel when your car can sit that low!
I assume a fuel cell might be how it is happening, or maybe just relocate the filler intio the ex-tray area?
And I missed it in my first post, but looking good man. Can't wait to see what you do with the body. Any plans yet, or are you going to stay original?

Sorry to hijack your thread man. I just got in from the shed. I was modding my CV shafts to fit 17's (I just cut them in half, was the best mod I could see to help with the severe clearence issues) and now the ute doesn't accelerate. Do you think I need a new clutch? No matter what gear I use it just revs up and nothing. I also have a very bad metal on metal banging noise from the half of the shaft that attaches to the box. Do you think If I remove this part then my car will work again? I can't figure out what the problem is...

mate, all your problems can be solved with a few well place tacks with a mig. that should het rid of the knockin nosie in the CV. but i strongly sugest cuttin the struts mate. i now get 18's in, and its DUMPED! makes cornering hard, well impossilbe. but HEY! i look cool.
