After a lot of thought and sadness i have decided to swap or sell my boy. I now have a job that takes a lot of my time, which leaves me little or no time or passion for the boy. I used to drive it 2 mins to work But my new job is 45 mins freeway time and i dont want to tear the ass out of her.
I have spent considerable amounts of money on this car(which we all do)
and believe someone that has the passion that i used to have will look after and maintain this car as i previously have
If you look at my profile you can see the car and although that was 4 years ago the car is almost as good now as then(Apart from the odd stone chip), the only thing updated is the turbo which is now a garrett gt12, Remote oil locator assembly, i took the stainless sport muffler and replaced with a standard one on to quieten it down(but still have the big one if you decide to put back on).
ok the car is
1986 Mighty boy
2pak black with purple pearl
f8b engine and box(the f8b is not engineered and have original 500 engine in garage)
Approx 6 months ago updated Charade turbo to Garrett gt12 with new manifold and dump.
new High flow radaitor
Turbo timer
Blow of valve
Boost gauge
Remote oil locator assembly
OBX Red Racing seats
Charade instrument cluster
Custom centre console
Velour roof lining and door skins with mirrored perspex lightning bolts grafted in to door skins
lowered 2inch+13 Suzuki swift rims with Yokohama tyres(Barry whom used to own this car advised me its been lowered 2 inch)
Boss head set and amp with 12 inch sony sub and speakers in door pods
I have new lower control arms/balljoints and Noltec sway bar to ctrl arm and front control arm inner bushes to be put in.(cant find swaybar D bushes)
I have never had the new turbo over 5psi, you can view the dyno report after the gt12 was put on in my profile.
It has only been run on Premium since ive owned it.
This car has 10 months rego.
REPEAT... THIS CAR IS NOT ENGINEERED TO HAVE THE F8B IN IT.
PROBLEMS THAT I KNOW OF
The problem i have had and still do have is there is a little oil leak i think from turbo to sump oil return line and although it only leaves a puddle the size of a 10 cent piece i hate oil leakes and after numerous attempts to correct it i have given up.
And it may need front disk Machined as the steering wheel moves slightly
during braking(which i was going to do when replacing control arm and bushes).
I have tail lights, drive shafts, extractors, small intercooler, Modified carby, and a few other bits and pieces.
I believe the car is worth approx 4k so please PM me, dont leave a message on the forum if you have an offer or want more details.
Thanks
Oh yeah for swapping im after a 4 cyclinder say somthing like a Hyundai or similiar to the value above mentioned.

Sad to see you selling up, Brian. I wish I hadn't blown the motor in my Swift sedan or you would have a swap!
I'm interested in the grill if you want to sell it separately though!

I'm a little confused.
If you like the car, why sell it?
45 mins in a MB or 45 mins a Camry (or whatever) is still the same.
Freeway travel shouldn't hurt/damage/ruin/stress the MB.
In fact, that's why I just bought one.
I travel 50 mins to work, and fuel cost in the Range Rover was astronomical.
Don't tell me now that a MB can't handle an hour of driving - please.
Admittedly my travel is mainly 80/90/100 km/hr, and it seems to cope OK (except for hills or a headwind).
I wouldn't say it's the best car I've ever driven, but less that 1 hr is tolerable. I don't intend to tour Aus in it!
I think you should re-evaluate your travel.
A car is car is a car.
45mins whether it be in a MB, Falcon, Commode, Camry, Excel is still the same. Admittedly - they have more mod cons - Air con, Cruise etc, but hey, that's not everything.
Don't give up your passion for the sake of 2 x 45min journeys
Sorry for the rant.
