Brayden has one:
Doug has one, I will link to his gallery as he has a few pics: http://www.tamon.org/gallery/v/members/Dougy_Boy/doogy/
Will leave it up to those boys to explain the difficulty in fitting it. They are direct bolt in, I think wiring might be slightly different. They can tell you anyway.

Garry. Nuff sed!
They are close to a direct swap, with the following differences:
- Bracket behind the glovebox doesn't line up
- Heater controls aren't a neat fit, which causes problems with the wires behind the levers disconnecting.
- You need the hatch wiring loom for to make the swap easier, otherwise you'll be hacking the MB loom up.
Personally if I was to do another dash modification I would keep the MB dash and put a G11 Charade cluster in it.

if anyone has got a spare one they want to offload ill be happy to buy one, presumably they are direct bolt into a hatch.
digital would be awesome, but is it prone to faults and inaccuracy?

For anyone in the dark, the only instrument that is actually digital is the speedo - the rest are analogue dials.
The reading on mine is perfectly accurate, and hasn't given me any trouble.

just a quick note...for reference if you are trying to locate one,
you are likely to find the digital speedo in the 800 hatch VX.
my daily driver is a 1984 800 hatch VX, it has the digital speedo and analogue fuel and temp guages as Brayden stated in the previous post.
I owned three hatches 1983-84 and only the VX hatch has the digital speedo, aswell as the velour trim on door panels and extra external trims.
cheers.

I know it's a bit of a grave dig, i'm doing a bit of that tonight, not been on the forums for a bit.
Anyway, can just the "digital speedo cluster " be swapped into a mighty boy dash? I know i would have to make a wiring loom, but that doesn't bother me. I know where there is a hatch with the gear, but the dash itself is broken into two pieces, and i don't think i wanna put it back together. It probably could be repaired. The cluster itself is ok.
Cheers

The digital Hatch cluster is a completely different shape to the MB one. You could probably make it fit, but it would look horribly Frankenstein.

That is truly disappointing, but thanks for the answer. Now i have to make up my mind if i try & get the wrecker's to give me the broken dash to get it repaired at some stage & buy the cluster or not..... .Brayden wrote:The digital Hatch cluster is a completely different shape to the MB one. The digital cluster wouldn't fit into other hatch dashes would it? Or even say 88 alto dash? Just thinking about it..... but my g/f reckon's i should leave the dash alone in my mighty boy, leave that part original. I must say it's in as close to perfect condition you can get for a 1986 model car with an un-restored dash.

The digital cluster will drop straight into the equivalent model that has the analogue cluster, but not pre 84 models, nor later Alto models.

Once again Brayden to the rescue when it comes to mighty boy related info! Thanks for that dude. Maybe i'll pickup the cluster & keep an eye out for the 84-8something hatch dash for later?Brayden wrote:The digital cluster will drop straight into the equivalent model that has the analogue cluster, but not pre 84 models, nor later Alto models.

Yeah I'd say grab the whole lot. You could always get the dash plastic welded and then fill/paint it.
