I know it has been asked before and no-one had one, but I thought I would ask again just on the off chance someone now has one....... :?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the f6a SOHC or DOHC models????

Also is the instrument cluster different between the models. If so are the tacho readings different (SOHC lower redline than DOHC on actual face of tacho).

Am I right in remembering that the speed/rev limiters are located in the instrument cluster itself????? So if I was to use a SOHC tacho on a DOHC model I would be lowering my redline below what it is capable of. (I know I can modify the wiring so that there is no rev limit but just wondering on stock setup)

the speed limiter is attached to the speedo not the tacho, so you should be fine.

johnnyB I knew the speedo restrictor was attached to the speedo and the rev limiter was attached to the tacho.
speed/rev limiters are located in the instrument cluster itself
My question really is, does the SOHC model have the same tacho as the DOHC model?

If they are the same that means that the only difference is the electronic limiter is set to a different rpm. Which means i can use my SOHC dial with the rev limiter removed on my DOHC engine.

Sorry about that.....

Im pretty sure that the rev limiter is in the computer not the tacho.

The instrument cluster looks identical from the back for both the SOHC and the DOHC. (Im going off the Cervo modes clusters)

Can some one else confirm?

i'm not after a higher redline, just want to know if i can use my SOHC dash in my DOHC engine. (ie. will i be revving past what the SOHC tacho dial will show)

The tahco counts ignition pulses so they will work the same for either 3 cylinder engine. I guess it will have a different redline becuse of bore stroke ratio etc but if it still runs up high enough excluding the indicated redline it wont matter at all. You could probably get a good instrement repairer to modify your dial face for what ever redline etc you need and probably not expensive to do so.
