Hi,
I've been visiting this site on a regular basis for a few years, dreaming of owning an MB since i was 16. Finally bought one on friday, and i must say i have had a smile on my face ever since! It's hard to get out of, and i can't stop looking at it, or talking about it! Figured it's time to join up when all my friends are sick of hearing about it.

I live in Canberra and am excited about joining a community of fellow MB lovers. I'll be posting some pics soon.

Yeah cheers, might hit you up for that - i'd be very keen to check out yours too! Is there a big Canberra MB represent? Haven't seen too many around, except for a couple red ones a few years ago.

There isn't a huge number of MB enthusiasts in the ACT, now ceej has sold his I think I must be the only local still attending ute shows and such.

Might go out tonight and cut a few laps of the city, see what's happening.

Hi all, i'm a gal of 46yrs and have always loved the might boy.. however could never justify having one until now.. as I'm into horses and need a vehicle to tow.. however I have descided to get one.. not being overly mechanincal I have decided to by one in good condiction, and plan using it as a daily run about and leave the Land Rover to the towing tasks!

I specificly wanted a little ute as then I can put the dogs (3 medium to large ones) in the back hopefully it will not overload the, or the odd bale of hay.

Also I feel I was to lesson my impact on the world, and by driving a big 4x4 every day won't do it.. so MB here I come.. can't wait to get her :D

I found this sight by via the reading the forums on The Suzuki MB Club.. and notice people mentioning TAMON so looked it up and here I am..

Hey well my names Christian, I am 17 and live in Jimboomba.
I will start by how I got onto the site, 2 words: My Father.
We were having some trouble with the head and thought it may have needed replacing. Luckily it didn't.

My Mighty Boy. Now not bagging them but when you haven't seen on in real life the pictures don't really do them any advantages and I must say I wasn't to interested in them, but we were looking through the trading post and well we came accross one for $400.
I wasn't too interested but I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt. On the way to looking at it I was like I probably won't like it. But when we got there I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. It was everything I wanted and more, We managed to knock him down to $350 considering it wasn't running. But $350 for the beast is unbelievable. It is my first car and dad wanted something he could teach me a bit about mechanics on. We have yet to get it running we've replaced the head gasket twice as we weren't getting the right tension coz of build up on the head bolts as they were sitting, was a bit of a pain working out the timing and cam shaft etc as the head was completely taken off and all the bolts were in the tray so we had a bit of trial and error with bolts luckily they were all there. At the present moment I can't get a spark and I've got a hunch its the coil. But we have seised work on the motor at the moment and we are doing body work from bogging up dings to respraying it yellow from red.

As it is still a work in progress I refuse to post pics but when it is finished ill post before and after shots.

Cheers for reading
And take care fellow mighty boy owners.

Hi All,
I would like o introduce myself, and thank the creators of this site. I am about to buy my first MB am picking it up this Friday afternoon! So excited, and am looking forward to using this site to learn all I will need to know. At 46 and being my first ever MB I am sure I will keep you all busy with questions. (Hope there not too silly) I live on the border of QLD and NSW 30 minutes from Warwick, and am purchasing a MB from an old couple in Brisbane. It's 23 years old and has done 80,000 klms. So wish me luck and I'll talk soon. BC
Have A Great Day!

Hi, I am Karu and I reside in the beautiful lush green hills 70km east of Melbourne where the Yarra river begins its journey to the sea (which by then is completely polluted). I have owned well over 100 cars in just a fraction under 31 years. I gave up counting when I got to 100 years ago. All my cars have always been cheap, very reliable and some very sought after; actually I wish I had some of them now, like my two 1965 VW Kombi's, one van and one twin cab ute. They both had the same fully worked 2 litre Cortina engine in them at seperate times.

Yes it is true I have been in pain with regret looking back at my rare cars and motor bikes that I have let go of over the years, but I am not going to make that same mistake again.

My old man finally and reluctedly after years of me hassling him (and only wih help from mum) has given me his much loved 1985 Super Carry. It has lived in his garage for 15 years and occasionally been driven. He never put any more than 10 litres of petrol in it and kept paying registration.

I travelled 300km on the train and drove it home, sitting on 110kmh most of the way. On the Princes Hwy on the Melbourne side of Geelong is a speed device that informs us of our speed, I was amazed that the speed on the little Suzuki was exact. Of course this is a problem because I don't want to keep the standard 12 inch wheels and truck tyres on it, so anything I do now will change the ratio.

After I got home it began to play up, so it is sitting in my garage now awaiting work. I don't need 2 cars so I planned to use my 1989 Mitsubishi Magna while I was working on it. My Magna cost me $300 17 months ago and all I have had to spend is $10 on a door handle, it just goes and goes. The other week I was 35km from home and I started it only to hear a terrible noise in the engine and then it locked up. The cost of a tow truck was too much for me to contemplate, I had no choice but to drive it. It started, the oil light came on and I drove it hoping it would get me home. It did. I pulled out the $500 stereo that came with the car and removed anything of value and put a screw driver in the car to pull off the number plates when it died. I had to travel 45km that night because we had an appointment with KRudd. Amonst all the banging and clattering with a car that had destroyed its oil pump it got us there and back. It still bangs and clatters and the oil light is still on and it has now taken me 575 km. It still has full power, it is far thriftier on petrol, it does not blow smoke and I had a Magna mechanic look at it, confirm that it was a stuffed oil pump, shake his head in amazement and said "It will seize you know". That was 400 km ago.

Now I realise this is a Suzuki forum and I haven't forgot that, but now I am in no hurry to get the Super Carry on the road (How many Km's will the Nagna travel before it dies?) So now I can do the job properly. I will remove the engine, remove the head to check it and remove carbon(I have reason to believe that the coolent was never changed) Replace the timing belt (I have reason to suspect that it also was never replaced). Check the clutch and replace a noisy thrust bearing. Replace all oils, grease and brake fluid.

I truly believe that these tiny Suzuki's, whether it be the Mightyboy or Carry's will only continue to increase in value and that is why from the moment I became the owner I will never have the same feeling of regret I felt of selling my rare vehicles. I own the tinest van anyone could try and imagine, a tiny van that raises smiles, a van that appears tiny but as we owners know, hold a lot of cargo. A van when driving on a hot day you can open both rear sliding doors (whether it is illegal or not in your State, who cares. Yep, I am content in life; well, maybe I need a Mightyboy first to be totally content.

i've had many cars over the years. i had a 5dr festiva about a year ago, which my old man wrote off. i was looking again for a small car to get around in and came across this one. i might post pics later, it's nothing to write home about, but i think it's cool.
