Nice crissy present dude! I bought myself 2 more 165/45 R15 tyres so i will have a full set of 15's on the boy. All i can afford atm, but better than nothing. :D But in no way compares to a F6a mighty boy.

Cheers

by jump starting he was referring to rolling it and dropping the clutch.
with the fragility of the suzuki gearbox I would tend not to do that if I could avoid it. and if it has a dead DEAD battery even if it started it would not run and may damage the alternator.
same with a cable start, as soon as the cable is disconnected it will die and there is a chance of a spike which will damage any electronics (computers etc) in there.
with the old fashioned generator as long as you could get the engine turning over fast enough it would run, for instance put a good battery in, start the engine set the carby to fast idle remove battery, although don't recommend turning lights on. Oh the memories of my old Hudson driving home at night with no battery installed....

Do you mean if you jump start a car, then take leads off, the car dies? Umm at tafe every cars battery is F**ked and we just put leads on, crank them then take leads off and it runs fine, if it had fuel of course, member car doesnt use the battery while running, unless excessive load, such as massive sound system.

to prevent a voltage spike, your supposed to leave the leads connected while its running for a bit.. not disconnect them straight away

I thought a voltage spike was only a concern for EFI computers.

To prevent a spike, get the spike protector leads. We keep them on for about 10 secs after vehicle is started. Always put the negative lead on the car your jump starting to a peice of metal, like the engine lift, that will help with the spike, it will be sent there and not to your ecu, i think thats right, correct me if im wrong.

And cd players and amps, my mate blew his amp when jump starting it, he had the leads on the battery, spiked and it went, not sure about his cd player, but his amp got fried.

That's all part of the reason you don't jump EFI car's straight from one battery to the other, you earth one of the car's. So car 1 you hook the jumper leads as per normal, + to +, - to - on the battery. On car 2, you hook + to +, and you earth the - to somewhere on the engine, like the lifting bracket for instance.

I've never had any trouble jump starting EFI car's like that. Never killed anything.

Cheers

Well I've got the money to get it ready for rego but not the time or the experence with the f6a :( All it needed was a brake upgrade and some minor work for blue slip but really need a car now not 2-3 months time due to moving into another place soon. Really upset that it's come to this tho as it's my dream car I'm giving up on. Hopfully down the track when I get the new place and settle in I can start again on another f6a or efi turbo f8b Mightyboy. I'm olny going to advertise it on tamon because I know someone on here will understand just how much work has gorn into it.

That really sucks, mighty boys arent the easiest cars to take care of, i'm always thinking in the back of my head, sell it and get a car that doesnt need constant work, but i just cant. Wouldnt a brake upgrade just be slotted rotors, and maybe a brake booster?
