Extractors
Make sure you bring a couple of plates on the weekend for me to buy - and let me know how much!

Nice work man! Great to see the manifold was of use.toy550 wrote:Plates have been picked up. Hopefully can get some time this week to start making up the extractors.
These flanges have been made from a F8B manifold...

A great looking product! Be sure to let us know when you have the final price for the extractors sorted out.

They clear the alternator by miles. Their not as easy to fit as you may think billie. Full instructions will be provided when all adjustments have been made. Just so that you have a rough idea, oil filter has to be removed and engine mounts un-bolted and lift engine approx an inch. Then they are fitted from underneath the vehicle. Then engine mount bolts and oil filter need to be re-fitted obviously. I'll take some photos of it when they are on the car.

Wow, that's a bit of a process but there really isn't much room at the front of the subframe to fit them thru, i take it the flange at the end of the extractors won't get thru the gap?

On second look at the pics I have a suggestion - the #1 cylinder runner needs a mandrel bend to get rid of that ugly kink.

^ was going to say the same things about the press bends...
on another note, if you make the collector/flange alot shorter and get all the pipes to merge before the bend to go under the sump (like the ones i made) it makes fitting a hell of alot easier.

It would acturally be easier (well for me). because when i lift my engine out, i dnt have a engine lift or pulley, so gotta use me hands. The exhaust pipe always hooks onto the front of the car. If i just gotta unbolt extractors then lift engine with jack and take em off, then i'm happy

Yeah I don't have a problem with the exhaust pipe mating flange being under the sump, it gets it out of the way of the oil filter and would make it easier to unbolt the exhaust for engine removal (which is basically the only time I would want to unbolt the exhaust.)
