Crazy stero systems
13.6kw, 18.3hp at the wheels.....
and when its done u will not see the box, the windows will be blacked out, and all u will c in the cabin is the port (which will be in the form of a hole/vent in where the window comes in 2 the cab, all front speakers will be located in pods with mesh/grilles over them so it looks like a black pod with nothing in them....

Sounds bloody good! will 13.6kW power that setup?
In all seriousness you might want a bigger alternator. Have other MB guys had big systems in with the stock alternator?

altoworks.info now being domain squatted... joy.

mines no where near as crazy as ferdies but im runnin off the stock alternatar with a 1 fared capacitor n 2 900cca batterys and they still go flat.
. i know u can get big universal bosch alternatorz.im guna try 1 of those and another battery and c how it goes.

mightymira!!! :)
Standard alternator only puts out 25A so you might want to look at something like a Suzuki Swift unit @ 60A - just make sure the wiring is up to the job.
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
have got a brand new landcruiser 100amp alt, will prob put it on as a second charging system that runs the stero only and leave all the stock system attached to the stock alt....
still looking in 2 the turbo alto conversion so there should be a couple more kw under the hood by the time its all done.

What is the maximum draw of your system?

max current draw is 300amps through the sub amplifiers and 120ish amps through the front stage amplifiers.... the subs will only pull this kind of figure doing spl when burping....
is set up so can play for long periods, front @ approx 50amp continous and subs at bout 150amps..... this is only a guess
its still stupid loud even at these 'lower' levels. ran it for bout 5-6hrs flat out yesterday, only had 2 turn it down when the show people started to complain that the crowd could not hear the announcers outside the building.... was at hyperzone on the goldcoast...

oh k cool.
...hey have u found with digital amps they r messy, the signal?............................................... my m8 blew hz 2 X15inch,1000rms rockfords the other week with 4 of those 1200rms us audio mono blocks.
amp 4 each coil.

mightymira!!! :)
What the hell is that supposed to mean?...hey have u found with digital amps they r messy, the signal?

Yes, well done smartarse. That says a whole bunch.
The output signal from the amplifier has noise introduced that isn't present in the input signal?
What sort of noise?
Are you sure the 'noise' you're perceiving isn't digital clipping?

from your post i would guess your mate has done a scary job in his car to start with......
digital amps are ment to be cleaner, having said this if u present the amp with a clipped signal from the headunit then the amp will make it worse.....
other induced noise is also possible eg: altinator whine through the rca's
having said all this if he is running one amp per coil this could have been the problem cos if u dont bridge the amps correctly u will very quickly burn stuff out cos there can be up 2 20% different amounts of power being suppilied to each coil even though the gains r set the same on each amp..........
the only way 2 do more than one amp per sub safley is 2 strap the amps or to check the out put of each amp on an osoliscope(SP??) to make sure they r all working at the same rate.....
ive seen a sub get more than x10 its rated power, but it was super clean power and it was in a correctly built box, power is usually not to blame when speakers blow, its usually clipping from a poorly set up system......
