The greater issue in the case of a digital amplifier is that if the amplifier is presented with too hot a signal and it clips within the digital domain of this particular amplifier the speakers are going to be supplied with extremely damaging square waves, not to mention your ears suffering the extremely grating sound of digital distortion.ferdie wrote:digital amps are ment to be cleaner, having said this if u present the amp with a clipped signal from the headunit then the amp will make it worse...

In my earlier post that you followed up I was drawing particular attention to the importance of maintaining correct gain structure when working with digital audio, as this is a far more likely cause of the problems aforementioned than 'digital amps being messy'.
The implicatation of your comment is a scenario where the signal source is overloading and feeding the dirty signal on to the amplifier - a bad a state of affairs regardless of whether you are using an amplifier built on digital or analogue architecture.ferdie wrote:if u present the amp with a clipped signal from the headunit then the amp will make it worse...
