Of course it will make a difference. I'm using an IHI RHB31 from an F6A on an F8B - it spools up super-quick and still pumps out 10PSI. Believe me that makes a massive difference.

Sounds like some fun to be had!

What setup wil you be using for the drive pulley? Upsize the existing water/altenator belt, or putting a double pulley on the crank?

Billie you need to be careful saying things like that because a positive displacement supercharger psi reading is directly related to the engine capacity and the volumetric efficiency of the engine. On a 550cc engine you would have to turn an AMR300 at around 3 times the engine speed to get that level of boost and it will be very inefficient.

My engine came stock with amr300. Guys in Japan are making 23psi safely with them.

Going with a single belt ATM. Will move the alternator to the rear and use it as a large adjuster then tighten with a turnbuckle on the S/C.

Anyone know a good brand of remote oil filter adapters? It's going to be tight down there with the S/C and will make filter changes a heck of a lot easier.

I've split the discussion on filter relocation into another thread because it was getting off-topic:

OK, so did a little bit more fitting to see how things go and found a little snag. The ISC hits the brake lines on the firewall and I will need to dish the firewall a bit so the connector fits.

And I thought I might see if the intercooler might fit in front of the engine. It's a bit tight, but could make it work.

ISC? What's that? There's nothing that looks like that on my manifold. :?

I wouldn't mount the intercooler there though. Too much heat soak from the exhaust would make it an interwarmer. The factory cooler fits neatly in front of the radiator. :)

ISC - Idle Speed Control, ups the idle when it's cold or if there is a load on i.e. aircon. Could live without it but I like the idea of it idleing up when it's cold.

Interesting. My manifold has an IAC valve but it is a little electric box on the manifold controlled by the ECU. Don't remember seeing a separate CSV when I removed and plugged all the pollution gear.

With the way Suzuki change things, I'm not surprised mine's different. My manifold came off an auto as well, so that might be another reason it's different.

Might have a look at your suggestion of mounting the intercooler in front of the radiator. Wasn't looking at putting it in, but since I have it, might as well if I can make it fit.

To make the ISC fit, I have decided to cut a hole in the firewall and fit a spun metal dome in to give a nice finish. So, thought I would have a look behind there to see what might need to move and then decided to remove the dash for a better view.

I now have the dash and heater out of the boy and where I want to drill the hole is where the two rear brake lines run. Shouldn't be a problem as I only need to put a small dish in, but lucky I looked before I went at it with a hole saw. :) Still, where I need to fit the dish is close to where the steering column and brake cylinder support bolts to the firewall. Hopefully I will be able to do this without it effecting that.

And had another look at mounting the intercooler infront of the radiator. Fits no problem, just working out how to plumb it in is fun.

Oh well, the joys of modifying a unique car. :D

Well, haven't done much on the boy due to just never having the time. Got a mini radiator and now trying to work out some mounting brakets for it. Since I am putting the intercooler in front of it, the radiator will sit back a bit. This brings it close to the clutch lever. I will have to find a slim fan to fit on the radiator so there is enough clearance. Mini-kompresor, what fan do you have mounted to yours?

I have worked out how to plumb the intercooler though! The pipe from the supercharger will be showing below the bumper, not sure if I will paint it black to hide it or anodise it to really make it stand out. Maybe chrome? :thumbup1:

Was mucking around on the vicroads website for a bit of insperation. What do you think? :D

Personally I'd hide the pipe by painting it black. The slimmest fan I've found (that I'm using) is a Davies Craig 10" unit, and to make the brackets I suggest using a length of 50mm alloy 90deg angle, cut and use on both sides - worked a treat for me.
