http://au.news.yahoo.com/050606/21/um37.htmlProvisional licence holders in New South Wales will be prohibited from driving powerful cars from next month, unless they have a work-related permit or live in remote country areas.
The restrictions will apply to cars with eight or more cylinders, turbo charged cars and cars with engine modifications.
Under the measures, provisional drivers who have had their licence disqualified will be restricted to carrying one passenger for a year after they regain their licence.

A bit silly they should adopt the vic regulations, 125kW per tonne.
This way you can drive a 200+kW modded N/A 6cyl XR6, but not a 43kW turbo alto, or even more rediculously, a turbodiesel 4WD or van. Admittedly the vic regs are hard to police, but hopefully it will stop younger hoons.
The NSW motorcycle laws for learners/probationary riders are much better than in vic
Vic you can only ride 250cc, but in NSW you can ride up to 650cc depending on power/weight ratio. Vic learners can ride a 60HP, 120kg 2-stroke (like me), but NSW cant, (no high powered 2-strokes) and can ride 30HP 650cc's, good for bigger blokes or some who want the torque of a bigger bike.

Yep, unless you get busted for doing something wrong. In that case you're then put on the new P plate laws.Gladier wrote:so because i got mine at the end of march this year ... after theyve brought out the new laws i can go and buy a v8 and be able to legally drive it????
F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
this is a joke I've rung the RTA and under the new ruling the mighty boy my daughter is building she can not drive it as the F8B motor that is going in has to be enginered. Under the changes P platers are not alowed to drive V8 ,turbo, supercharged or enginered cars,
