NQX have have excellent service, pallet freight (standard sizes, dead freight) which you would usually send engines via is very cheap, i cant imagine it would be any difference with TOLL.
Only downside is they dont really deal with members of the public, but they dont ask for your ABN or anything, so when getting a quote (or sending an order), just make up your own business name or possibly use the name where you work. It is no big deal with them anyway.
As with most companies you can either pre pay or you can wait until pickup and pay for it at one of their distributors/depots.
http://www.toll.com.au is them, you probably want the regional service here http://www.toll.com.au/contact/long_ft.html

Hi guys, finally tracked down a cheap freighter company
,barnetts here in sydney will freight the engine strapped to a small pallet for approx,
Melbourne $110
Brisbane $180
ACT $55
these prices maybe reduced as this is based on the engine weighing at least 150kg and i think the engine/box weight would more likely be around the 100kg mark but i'd rather over price than under price and freight is payable at recievers end also.
i also called toll, basically they quoted to go to brisbane minium $265.00
cheers

i will be redoing the compression test on saterday, as i have been working 7 days a week for the past 2months and have'nt had time to do it

hi guys, tried to redo the compression test again but the compression tester i borrowed from a mechanic did'nt fit again
the compression tester apparently needed is motorbike compression tester
, i did redo the test using a very old push in compression tester, i a got similar reading to before around the 85-90psi on average, but the engine does'nt spin as fast as i would expect as the battery i'm using is'nt the best, the test went like this number 3 cyl gave 100psi then number 2 cyl gave 85psi and number 3 around 78psi but the engine rpm's by this stage had reduced significantly as battery was starting to go flat and the more i did the comp tests the slower the engine turned over.

hi guys, i can't do the leak down test because, i don't have a compression tester that will screw into the head and im not willing to go buy one just to do the test as im in enough debt as is, the MB 550cc carby engine are a standard size spark plug which i have heaps of compression tester fittings for, but the f5a which has motorbike size spark plug which i don't have fittings for.
