Dave, Where on ebay, can you post the link?
Will it bolt onto the F8B?

Sorry mate. I bought it about 8 months ago. The auction has long since been removed.
From what I understand the F5B DOHC manifold is the same as the F6A SOHC/DOHC manifold, so the Garrett GT12 will bolt straight on. It is designed specifically for newer model Kei class cars so I don't see why they would have designed it for the old F5A SOHC/DOHC manifold.
The Garrett GT12 might not be much larger than the IHI RHB31 that the F5 and F6 series engines use as standard, but they are high flowed and ball bearing, with internals capable of producing and sustaining high boost.
P.S. Although the IHI RHB32 turbo from the 1L CB61 Charade might produce 67kw on an F6A, I can guarantee that at the 17PSI it was running to make that power it won't last very long. Those turbochargers are an old design, and coupled with being 20 years old they shit themselves quite regularly - just ask Colin! They definately weren't designed to push more than 12PSI for extended periods of time.
If sheer HP is the goal, then a VRH5 from a Subaru twin turbo would also be a decent upgrade, or a GT15 for that matter. Of course with size comes lag.

F8B EFI turbo - Three pots and a snail.
17psi only on short burst
except for one time after getting tuned and getting out for a drive that night... and between 60kms and approx 140kms being side by side and up the arse of a my99 wrx running standard boost.
from the end of anzac bridge all along victora rd for a 5kms.
the smile of his face got wiped by saying its a 3cyl... only 0.6l

ps. dont do it as the standard mightyboy brakes are so not suitable for the f6a.. that was found out right quick

standard brakes are fine for an f6a, decent set of pads and fluid and mine has done countless trackdays, including one at winton, notoriously tough on brakes, and its never had a problem not with fade or lack of stopping power, infact not only could it outrun my old porsche, it could easily out brake it too. have avoided many kangaroo collisions simply from the brakes on the little tacker..
Doesn't your ute use the Alto brake booster though?
