Hi Guys,

I have an F5B DOHC Turbo 4WD engine for sale. I bought it off Justjap in Sydney when I was looking for a replacement gearbox for my one but as it happens JohnnyC came to my rescue with his spare one when this was still on the boat. Was going to keep it as a spare but I am thinking of going the F6A route now.

When I bought it Justjap gave me a photo of the car from auction as proof that is was running but other than that I havent looked at it further. It is complete but they were pretty brutal on the connections. You know, cutting wires instead of unplugging them etc. Should still be able to wire up a battery and compression test etc if required (but I dont have the equipment to do it myself).

So yeh, full engine, all accessories, aircon compressor, 4WD gearbox, aftermarket blow off valve and F5B DOHC computer.

I'll put up some photos when I get chance in the next day or so

Thanks,
Daniel (Melb Vic)

What about the g/box, do you fit rear diff and turn into AWD, what is the engine capacity, and are they hard to get parts for?

F5B is 547cc, and you can pull a pin in the box, remove the transfer case and make it FWD.

Heya Goofy,

Yeh, windscreens are evil. The only ones who even considered helping me get one were Justjap. Cost me $300 or $400. I've erased the memory as it made me cry at the time.

I suggested they get a few in when they got mine but i guess they arent the highest moving stock in the world and storage space is money. You asking might get them thinking!!!

Yeh, give Darron a call and he'll help you out. It'll just take time to find and time to ship.

Might be interested in chucking this into my hatch.

Would this bolt straight in ? also what else would be needed to get this going or is it a bolt in job and turn the key ?

Heya Daz3d,

I dont know anything about hatches and mightyboys but im assuming you would need to get driveshafts made up and modify the crossmember or custom engine mounts.

It is 4WD and Im not super sure if it can be made FWD. The transfer case is built into the gearbox but you might just be able to remove the gears for that part and install a blanking plate. Maybe a local FWD gearbox will fit up??
