I have just purchased a set of 13" 5.5" rims that a similar to simmonds B45's, i read on the forum that is the largest size you could fit without too much hassel.
The back is a perfect fit and because of that i want to keep the rims but the fronts hangs out the sides and i cant go anywhere without bashing into the front guard.
If anyone has any advice on how to gain clearance and cover to make these rims at home on my MB i would be forever gratefull.

Baseball bat and a heat gun
Or some PVC pipe works too...
If you are not keen for a bit of DIY then you might have to get the guards rolled at a workshop.
Is your MB lowered as 13X5.5's should fit OK. Mine scrub a bit now on the front but it is lowered 2 inches.

Sounds like the wheels have the wrong offset. You can take the rims and have the back of the centres machined down, but that means you can't rotate them front/back to extend tyre life.

To my knowledge my MB is not lowered and i have like 30mm of tyre hanging out the side, i am worried rolling the guards will not suit the car and if i can match the paint to re do the panel.
I am not sure of the rims offset i didnt get the box my local tyre dealer delivered them all with tyres ready.

If you have 30mm of tyre outside the guard then you definitely have the wrong offset. The number should also be stamped on the back of the rim too.
My rims are 5.5" wide and they fit easily inside the front arches.

What is the offset on your rims and who would you take it to to have it machined i cant imagine it being a common practice or even road worthy.

Offset on my rims is -42mm. Machining the back of the rim could be done by most mechanical engineering places/steelworks.
Nothing illegal that I know about. Obviously there would be a limit to how much you could machine off the rim before it affected the strength though.
Personally I would look for rims with the correct offset. If you bought the rims new then take them back and ask for an exchange/refund.

Sorry that was a typo, it should be positive. Any wheel/tyre shop should know that -42mm would be ridiculously wrong.
