Back again Tempe suggest these rims for the MB

http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_c ... art_no=132

with 155/55/14 tyres

The offset is +40 on the rims.

Just double checking they would be suitable and best buy for my project...

Thanks

Bruce

If that tyre size is correct then you should be pretty right mate, although you will need custom wheel nuts too. ;)

Thanks.....

I am using larger wheel studs all around anyway.

Cheers

I should have mentioned that I'm using the same style rims in 15" and +42mm offset and they fit with no probs. Mine are only 5.5" wide though.

Did you get your package for the advertised price? Or did the price change through tyre choice?

They want $150 more for the package to source the 155/55/14 size. Not sure how hard it is to find that size in OZ? Did your 15" 5.5's rims come from Tempe? maybe that's a better way to go as the 15" tyres might be easier to get?? What size did you put on the 5.5's??

Thanks

Bruce

I thought they'd charge more, 155/55 is a pretty odd size. My 15"s came from Tempe originally, but they stopped making the 5.5" some time ago. now they only stock 6.5". I use 165/50/15 tyres - Falken Azenis at about $180 a corner. You can get Bridgestones for about $125, but they're not directional.

I too would love an update. I had a look at the rims & tyres, and if i had a few extra $$$ and needed new rubber right now, i'd snap up a set. They look hot!

My boy has done about 15k kms on the current 165/65 13's and there is plenty of life in those tyres, with my budget so tight it's hard to justify a new set of rims & tyres atm.

Cheers

No idea how they would go with standard ride height, mine is 2" lower with rolled arches and brand new suspension/bushes.

It is a moot point anyway because Tempe don't sell the 5.5" wide version of my rims any more.

Your going to stretch a 155 tyre on to a 6 inch rim?

Thats really stretching that tyre to make it fit, personally i would be looking for a 165 tyre to go on to those 6" rims.

Not sure how you will go legally either if you have an accident, 5" - 5.5" is about the max width for most 155 tyre. They could deem that as being unsafe and un-roadworthy and sorry, but so they should.
