Once the calipers are off, and all nuts & screws are undone the rotors should slide off the hub over the studs. If they have been there a very long time they may need a gentle hit with a rubber mallet.

They shouldn't be very hard to get off......

You sure there isn't s screw, phillips head that is designed to locate the rotor onto the hub that is still in place? The head might be full of crap & making it harder to see. Most disc's i've seen that fit onto hubs have at least one locating screw.

What's it on, a mighty boy?

Rotor should slide off the hub when it's loose.

Cheers

You need a slide pull to get them off.

Interesting! I didn't to take mine off last time.

Edit: I had a quick look over the mighty boy manual on the "other mighty boy site", and it doesn't specifically say how to remove the rotors, unless i'm missing something.

Sorry but it was the first thing i could find at that stupid hour, i shoulda been in bed, no reading mighty boy manuals! lolz. I'll try not to link to it next time, but i thought something is better than nothing.

Reading that, it says to remove the hub & disc...... With the slide hammer as you stated Brayden. Funny i don't remember having to remove my hubs to change my disc's. I'll be under the boy next w/e, i'll be having a look at it to see if i'm going insane, or i'll check the spare hubs i have lying in the shed.

Cheers

I'm only shit-stirring about your link, don't sweat it.

Not 100% sure on the details of replacing rotors though, I must admit the only times I have replaced rotors I have replaced the bearings at the same time, which meant dropping the entire hub to a mechanic to have the bearings pressed out. (and rotors changed while they were at it)

That's cool, i was playing along. :D Works a bit quiet atm.

You should get yourself a little press, i've got a 6ton one & it's not hard to press the bearings or any bushes with it. It's paid for itself many times over.

you have to press out the bearings/hub to get the rotors off....

You will need 2x 6007 bearings for each side as when you press them out more than likely they will be notchy (you cannot support the bearing when pressing them out, unlike when pressing them in).

They are about $10-$15 each for the 6007's. make sure you get ones with a seal/shield on both sides. You can reuse your old drive shaft seal then as it really is just a backup to keep water/dirt out....plus saves you the cost in buying another one. (tip: to get the driver shaft seal out is to leave it in there and when you press out the inner bearing it will pop out with it....don't use a screw driver to lever it out otherwise you WILL have to buy a new one)

yeah as far as i can remember u need to press them off to get the rotore off. so best bet would be to do the wheel bearings while its off.... i have a pair of brand new rotors i ordered in but never used as i used the brake upgrade that was on the hatch.... so if anyone needs new rotors pm me 4 $ and details
