Hey guys,

Recently finished putting G10a engine into MB from a suzuki swift GA 1991. Everything worked out pretty well. Took alot of time and trial and error, but finally got it running however there's one problem...

At higher gears and speeds the car starts to starve for what I think is fuel. So I'm led to believe it's the fuel pump. I didn't really know what psi for fuel pump to buy. At the moment fuel pump being used is Fedtro Solid State Electronic Fuel Pump 12V - 3.0-4.5 PSI. I don't think fuel pump will cut it.

Any suggestions on fuel pumps that I can look at, that will work with G10a engine? Probs fuel pump with higher psi yeah?

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks :)

Ben,
You don't want higher pressure as it will over power the float seat and you will get flooding on the engine. The more likey situation is that you need to adjust the float height in the carby as what you are describing is a symptom of a low float height.

Having said all that, I would also look at blowing out your fuel lines and a new fuel filter if that has not been done. Good to see another G10 going into a MB. Is it the older tin top engine or the one with the narrow tapper cover and hydraulic lifters?

If it is the latter, I can put you onto a guy that does cams and some other bits and pieces that will make a significant difference to the way that the thing drives. I have done some mods to mine and it is like a new car.

Regards
Paul
